|One lump of sugar or two?|
Will and Kate. Some of us can’t get enough, and some of us have had enough! Love them or hate them, some of us might be waking up bright and early to catch what people are calling “the wedding of the century”! You don’t need to be in England to experience the royal wedding. Here is guide to help you celebrate Love Twenty style!
Make a Playlist
Start your royal day by creating the ultimate British playlist! May we suggest;
“All You Need is Love” – The Beatles
“Prince Harry” – Soho Dolls
“Swinging London Town” – Girls Aloud
“Princess” – Datarock
“London Calling” – The Clash
“Rolling In The Deep” – Adele
“God Save the Queen” – Nouvelle Vague
“Spice Up Your Life”- The Spice Girls
“Tea Party” – Kerli
“What the World Needs Now Is Love” – Burt Bacharach & The Posies
Paint Your Nails!
Painting your nails is a cheap and fun way to celebrate the occasion. Brands like butter LONDON nail polish have made special edition polishes for the wedding. “No More Waity, Katie” is lovely lilac shade, sold exclusively at the company’s website.
However, you don’t need to spend $15 to create awesome London looks. Brands like Rimmell London, sell more inexpensive yet just as English nail polishes.
Feeling creative? Try painting your nails like the Union Jack flag!
Embrace Your Inner Princess
Even though most of us probably won’t marry a prince, we can always dream, right? Watching classic Disney Princess movies like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Beauty and the Beast, will be sure to get you feeling like the princess we all know you are! If you’re really feeling daring, wear a tiara for a day. You probably deserve it!
The Royal Menu
Need some English Fare? Here are some recipes from my grandmum’s cookbook that’s sure to satisfy your cravings.
- 2 cups of flour
- 4 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 4 tablespoons of butter
- 2 eggs (plus 1-2 egg whites for coating)
- 1/3 cup of cream
- Sugar to top
First, sift flour and mix and sift dry ingredients. Cut in the butter until the consistency is of coarse meal. Break eggs into a separate bowl, and beat. Once eggs are beaten, add the cream and mix thoroughly. Stir liquid into dry ingredients. Stir until mixture is uniform so that it leaves the sides of the bowl. Knead a few times until the dough is smooth. Roll 3/4 inch thick and cut into squares. Brush with egg whites, sprinkle with sugar. Bake 425 degrees for 15 minutes.
Grandmum’s Upside Down Pineapple Cake
- 1 stick of butter or margarine
- 3/4 cup of sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 medium can of crushed pineapple
- 5 slices of white bread (cubed)
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, pineapple, and bread cubes and mix well. Pour into greased casserole dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Serve warm. Delicious with morning ham!
