|Cute duds for a great cause? Score!
If you’re not already obsessed with TOMS shoes, I’m here to make sure you are when you’re done reading this. Founded in 2006, the TOMS shoe company operates on a one-for-one model; for every pair of shoes purchased, a pair is donated to a child in need. Yesterday, Blake Mycsokie, the founder and Chief Shoe-Giver unveiled the next chapter of the company. Drum roll please… TOMS Eyewear!
In keeping with the one-for-one promise, every pair of sunglasses purchased provides medical care to give one person their eyesight back. Available on the TOMS website
and at Nordstrom
, these stunner shades are a bit pricey ($135 a pair) but they’re cheaper than Ray Bans and guarantees that someone in Nepal, Cambodia, or Tibet will be able to see.
With my 11th pair of TOMS shoes in route as I type (Coral Wedges, in case you were wondering), I was thrilled with the new chapter of the one-for-one movement. In case you missed the big reveal, you catch it here.
TOMS is no longer a shoe company, but a one-for-one company: profitable, successful, and fashionable proof that good style can benefit a good cause. And I, for one, will continue to shop til I drop knowing that someone somewhere is going to be happier, healthier, and better off because of me.
