Your Guide to an Awesome 4th of July

Make it the best 4th yet!
Ahhh, the fourth. Fireworks, barbeques, and lots of delicious wine coolers. If you’re not sure what to do on this beautiful day off of all forms of labor, we have some ideas for you that will guide you in the direction of the best Independence Day ever.

Go camping. Campgrounds around the country are filled up this weekend with people enjoying their extra day off of work. Pitch a tent and enjoy a night of stargazing and being out in the wilderness! It’s nice to get a breath of fresh air once and awhile and this is the perfect way to do it.
Have a picnic. Pack up a bunch of your favorite goodies (chips, sandwiches, and don’t forget a yummy dessert!) and hit up a local park for some bonding time with friends or family. To make it extra fun, skip out on sitting at a picnic table and bring an old blanket along instead to set up somewhere in the grass.
Go swimming. Everyone loves being out on the water, so head to the beach for a relaxing day of hitting up the waves and laying out. Don’t forget to bring a good book and some sunscreen along! Plus, you get to show off that bikini bod you’ve been working so hard at getting.
Roast some s’mores. When nighttime rolls around, build a fire and invite a group of friends to gather around it to reminisce and catch up on life. You’ll be bound to have a great time – especially when you get to eat your chocolaty marshmallow treat!
Bust out a pack of sparklers and snakes. They’re two “fireworks” that are legal pretty much everywhere, so have fun with them! You can get a pack of them at Walmart for a couple dollars. Totally worth it!
Watch the fireworks. If your town isn’t having a firework display, there is probably a town within a twenty minute drive that is! Check online to see where the best ones will be held, grab some friends, and go watch the colorful show.

We asked our readers to tweet us their holiday plans and this is what they said:
Stephanie Weaver (@weave90), an awesome reader, said:  Scooping ice cream for tourists. It will be a crazy #4thofJuly!
Kirsten Hurley (@klizhurley), one of our fabulous interns, said: Spending the day lifeguarding, then bbq at nighttime!
Tehrene Firman (@tehrene), our Editor-in-Chief, said: Spending the whole day with my family! Then ending it with fireworks. 🙂
