Refresh With Some Zest: Cupcakes and Cashmere

Did water just get more delicious?

It’s no surprise that water is one of the best things out there for you. Soda is laden with sugar and empty calories and ‘all natural’ juice drinks now seem to be only 5% real juice. What’s a girl to do when she wants something good for her, but with a little taste (and a bonus of some style too)?

Emily of the website, cupcakesandcashmere has come up with a tasty, simple alternative that works perfectly for your next get-together.

Using basic ingredients like lemon, orange, lavender and mint leaves, all you do is soak the individual ingredients in pitchers full of fresh, filtered water (because as she puts it, a Brita on the table does not exactly read fancy).

After a few hours (more or less depending on the depth of flavor you want to achieve), pour the strained water into cute bottles like these from Sur La Table. They not only hold your new delicious refreshments, but look decorative too, especially with little homemade tags, like the one’s created by Emily. All it takes is some colored pencils, card stock paper and a little creativity.

Not exactly an artist? No problem. The more rough sketch they are, the better they look (plus your family and friends have to love you anyways).

Attach the labels with decorative string or some raffia and arrange on the table with lots of bright, freshly cut flowers, good food and surround yourself with great friends. Enjoy!
