Fashion’s Night Out – Where to Go and Who to See

The best night ever begins… now.

If you’re in The City, you’re probably overwhelmed with all the events going on tonight. This year marks the third annual Fashion’s Night Out (more details here). I’ve weeded through all the events to recommend my favorites, and can even offer some suggestions on where to celebrate if you’re not in New York!

Picks from the Fashion Week Fashionista:

Music Lovers:

Tiffany and Co.: If I were in NYC tonight, I would be first in line to see Leighton Meester and Check in the Dark play an acoustic set. Be sure to arrive early, though, because the place is going to be packed!

Macy’s: Joss Stone and Kelly Rowland will perform in addition to appearances from Tommy Hilfiger, Coco Rocha, Sandra Lee, Miss J from ANTM, Bobbi Brown, Anna Dello Russo, Karolina Kurkova, and Rachel Roy. Word has it that lucky shoppers also might get a chance to play a game of pool with Diddy!

Model Lovers:

Stella McCartney NYC: It’s going to be a cool girl show at Stella McCartney with DJing from Alexa Chung, Elettra Wiedemann, and Jen Brill. Hilary Rhoda, Jordan Dunn, China Chow, Arden Wohl, and Joy Bryant will also be in attendance at the event, which comes with a fresh pretzel cart outside the store, open bar, and photo booth.

Victoria’s Secret: The Fulton Street location will be filled with models as Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Erin Heatherton, and Lily Aldridge will be readily available to take photos with customers. You can also get a Fall makeup and fragrance makeover.

Charity Lovers:

JCPenney NYC: JCPenney will be hosting a “Miss for a Must” event where shoppers can bring in a fashion “miss” from their closet in return for a gift card. Plus, get tips from experts that will help you avoid future fashion faux pas! Experts will also be on site to provide styling advice to guests. All gently worn “misses” will be collected and donated to a local NY charity.

Designer Lovers:

Bergdorf Goodman: Michael Kors will make an appearance in Bergdorf’s famous Fifth Avenue windows to celebrate 30 years with the retailer, Oscar de la Renta will be around to sign his limited-edition “Face of Fashion” Fall kaleidoscope palette by Le Métier de Beauté, Audrianna Cole will perform, and one of our favorite events of the night, the designer dog show where designers like Badgley Mischka, Joseph Altuzarra, Lela Rose, and Reem Acra will strut the runway with their dogs while Marchesa’s Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, Santiago Gonzalez, and The BagSnob’s Tina Craig do the judging.

Bloomingdale’s: Appearances by Rachel Zoe and Erin Wasson; Edun’s Ali Hewson will also host a truth or lie game where she and a special guest tell shoppers a story and have them decide whether it’s the truth or a lie. Sources are guessing that the special guest might be Ali’s rockstar husband Bono Saks Fifth Avenue: Appearances from Tilda Swinton, Prabal Gurung, and a performance and autograph signing from Ne-Yo.

For those of you NOT in New York City, Fashion’s Night Out Around The Country has put together this list – by state – just for you!

Alabama: Juicy Couture stores celebrate the Viva La Juicy Couture Fragrance.

Delaware: Nordstrom is offering free hand massages, makeup application and food sampling.

Florida: Aventura Mall is offering discounts, free samples and makeovers in almost every store.

Michigan: Saks will turn its beauty department into a complimentary beauty salon with makeovers and giveaways.

Minnesota: StyledLife will have a complimentary eyelash bar and cocktails

New Hampshire: Lush and Sephora in The Mall at Rockingham Park are offering giveaways, free facials, refreshments, and samples.

Oklahoma: Saks is offering free makeovers and previews of new fall beauty collections, plus lots of samples!

San Francisco, CA: L’Occitane will be offering complimentary hand massages and previews of new products.

Beverly Hills, CA: Guess is teaming up with NYX Cosmetics and offering mini makeovers and touch ups at their Rodeo Drive store.

Venice, CA: Stop by Strange Invisible Perfumes to pick up a zodiac-inspired perfume and discover the link between fashion and fragrance. Guests can browse a library of Vogue images and an expert will pick a fragrance for them based on the image they select.

Country Wide:

  • L’Oréal Professionnel (together with participating salons) will be hosting an after-dark soiree. Stylists will be creating Femme Fatale looks using the new L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil. Contact your local salon to see if they’re participating.
  • Bare Escentuals stores are offering free makeovers! Call your local store to reserve a spot.
  • Clinique’s makeup counter at Macy’s will take a look inside your beauty bag and see what you need for fall, then they’ll fill it with samples!
  • Get a mini manicure at Chanel with their new Les Jeans de Chanel collection.
Have fun tonight! And don’t stay out too late. 😉
