Splash Into Nauticals!

Don’t make me walk the plank!

Ahoy, Love Twenty readers! Jump aboard and explore the wettest trend this coming fall.

This may seem more of a summer trend, but I think anyone can pull off the nautical look year round. I love this trend because it’s so easy to add to any outfit. I’m sure any girl in the Delta Gamma sorority, whose symbol is an anchor, would proudly rock these nautical inspired pieces.

You can go all out with the dress shown, belt it with a gold belt or gold bangle and you’re ready to set sail. (It could also be a great PG-13 sailor costume for Halloween!)

Stripes not your thing? Nautical colors range from blue, red, white, gold, silver and black! Stay away from red, white and blue or you might be mistaken for being late for a Fourth of July party!

These shorts from Forever 21 are perfect example of a simple way of showing off the trend. The high waist and big circular buttons detailing are an excellent way to start.

Boating shoes are a great way to add a nautical piece to your outfit. If you’re willing to splurge, I highly recommend Sperry’s. If you want to save a dollar or two, check out shoe department stores like DSW or Payless for cheaper (and still adorable!) versions.

An accessory that many might not think of is a cell phone case! It could be a great conversation starter and protect your phone from fatal drops. This case, designed by YouTube gurus Elle and Blair Fowler through Cellairis, are about the same price as other cell phone cases and can add a touch of nautical no matter what you are wearing!

Hope you enjoy these tips to spice up your wardrobe before heading back to school! Let me know what your favorite nautical piece is in the comments below!
